I (Krista) have basically grown up going to Camp Quaker Haven. I’ve gone to camp as a camper since I was in 2nd grade and before then I went because my aunt and uncle used to be the directors. In High school and college I worked there for 7 summers and have been going to family camp every year since then. It feels like home to me.
I think the main theme is camp (the natural beauty), sunflowers and vintage items. We will be using my great grandma’s hand-embroidered tablecloths for the reception. For the ceremony we’re keeping it pretty simple. I’m having a runner made of different rugs and we have an arch that we might put some Romanian lace on. I’m also having guests bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. I’m hoping this creates a kind of outdoor musical look.
I loooooove my dress. It is sleeveless lace that looks kind of crocheted. It has really nice paneling that shapes the dress to be form-fitting and it has a short train. When we were trying dresses on my sisters called it the “Prairie Princess” dress.
