We had the pleasure of photographing Kara and Eric’s wedding at The Woodlands Country Club a few months ago. It was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and personal touches that truly reflected their personalities. Let’s dive into the details!

Kara tried on a bunch of different dresses with lots of detail, but nothing felt right. She kept thinking that she didn’t want anything too “plain.” After trying on the dress she eventually chose three times, she knew it was the one. Although the dress didn’t have any beading or lace, and Kara thought people might even describe it as plain, Kara loved it because it felt like her. It has a bateau neckline, open back, and full skirt made of duchess satin. The dress is more ivory than white. Kara also wore a beautiful veil featuring flowers and pearls in the lace, adding a touch of elegance to her bridal look. Her mom said that when Kara walks down the aisle, people will think – that is the exact style dress I would picture Kara in!
Getting married in the church was a huge priority for Kara and Eric. St. Anthony’s of Padua has rules against bringing in outside decorations, but you didn’t need them anyway. The way the orange and blue light mixed in the chapel was a photographer’s dream. This is probably our favorite Catholic Church we have ever photographed.
Kara and Eric are a fun-loving couple and were thrilled to finally get married and celebrate their love with their nearest and dearest. They were excited to have all of their friends and family in one place, many of whom they hadn’t seen in a while. So family portraits were a huge priority. St. Anthony’s was an absolute stunning location for their family portraits.
Since Kara and Eric knew they would be getting married in a church, they didn’t need a venue with a chapel. They also desired an outdoor venue for their reception. After much searching, they settled on The Woodlands Country Club, where Eric plays golf, which quickly became their top choice. They loved the venue’s beautiful natural surroundings and the ease of working with the events staff.
Kara initially struggled with deciding on a specific theme or vibe for the wedding décor. After exploring various options, she ultimately settled on a simple and classic elegance vibe, which perfectly reflected her and Eric’s style.
The color scheme of steel blue, white flowers with greenery, and gold accents was chosen to complement the natural beauty of the venue. With such a stunning location, Kara realized that she did not need to add too much decoration to the space. Instead, she opted for minimalistic and tasteful touches to enhance the venue’s inherent beauty. The final result was breathtaking and perfectly captured the couple’s vision for their special day.
Kara and Eric wanted their whole day to wow the guests. They wanted people to walk away thinking “Wow-what a fun wedding!”
So they added personal touches like giant Astros hats since they’re such huge Astros fans. And an ice cream sundae bar because everyone loves ice cream.
They also looked for DJs they knew would play great music and “keep the dance floor” full and added a 360 Photo Booth, which they thought would be a newer concept to their guests to keep things fun.
Between the elegance of the venue, the plated dinner, delicious cake and ice cream, the DJs, and the personal touches, they definitely gave their a fun and memorable evening.
Kara and Eric’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love and personalities. It was a pleasure to photograph and be a part of such a special day. We wish them all the happiness in the world!
